Photographer's Paradise - Best Aspen Show - Kebler Pass

Hello All!! Afer a break of three years, this event is back!!

This is primarily a drive through some of the most beautiful fall color roads in North America. This year we will travel to Kebler Pass-Crested Butte near Aspen and enjoy fall color leaves. You can chose to hike or stay in the vehicle and enjoy the fall colors with your camera. The 30 miles between Crested Butte and Kebler Pass is one of the most photographed areas in Colorado.

Transportation will be shared - we'll car pool, but beyind 12 people, you'll need to carpool. Carpools will start from Wolly Mammoth Parking Lot KK

Kebler Pass

Kebler pass is home to one of the largest aspen groves in the world. Even more mind blowing is the fact that it grows from a single root system and is a single living organism. You'll get a surreal experience for fall as giant swaths of yellow shine amidst the surrounding peaks. Drive over the whole pass and you’ll descend into the friendly little town of Paonia. The pass is typically closed from November to May. CDOT call 970-641-0044.

7:45 AM - Leave Wolly Mammoth Parking

12:00 Noon - Arrive Trailhead

12:30 PM - Lunch

4:00 PM - Snacks at Crested Butte on way back

4:30 PM - Head back to Denver

WHAT TO BRING

Hiking boots, light jacket, sun hat, SPF 30+, sunglasses, 1.5 L water, snacks, hiking poles, small back pack, extra shirt. Please bring warm jacket, gloves and hat.

Backup Plan in caseof Snow Closure at Kebler Pass

1. Maroon Bells and Aspen for post hike snack OR

2. Silver Dollar Trail near Guenella Pass and Georgetown for post hike snack.
