One Kill Team to retake a planet?
"The Xenos better call for reinforcements. We Battle-Brothers will have this done by sunset", says Marko of Deathwatch (Blood Angel).
Recently the Agriworld of Avalos came to the attention of the Ordo Xenos and Inquisitor Kalistradi, who arrived with her retinue to uncover rumors of a Genestealer infestation. She soon dispatched a distress signal and then the whole planet went silent. A Deathwatch Kill Team was dispatched to investigate and purge.
Only moments after your frigate makes orbit, the vessel is set upon by a swarm of kraken Tyranid bio-ships. You and your Battle-Brothers make a narrow escape by droppod as the Imperial ship is torn virtually asunder, cutting off immediate support and any chance of reinforcement. During the pod’s descent, it locks onto the Inquisitor’s encrypted transponder signal and adjusts course, making planetfall within the city of Lordsholm.
================
This is a multi-part adventure that requires completing multiple objectives at the players' discretion. Choose to let the Lord-Mayor perish or send a distress signal? Prevent the rebels from overwhelming planetary forces or let them die and proceed with the original mission? Each choice has consequences and rewards as you proceed towards your last objective, Ultimate Sanction of the Xenos.It's ok if you can't make every session. Each week your rotating cast of Deathwatch characters will decide which objective to attempt as the clock ticks on towards the fall of the world to the Xenos. Pregens provided from an assortment of Space Marine chapters plus the Sisters of Battle.
Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory is an action-adventure RPG that uses a d6 dice pool system that will be instantly familiar to Warhammer 40K players. Whenever your character tries to do something and the result is uncertain, you roll based on your character’s attributes and skills, adding in a Wrath die on every roll. A result of 6 on the Wrath die awards you a point of Wrath which can be spent for special effects. A result of 1 on the Wrath die triggers a narrative complication, regardless of whether you failed or succeeded; the perfect opportunity for everyone to work together to create an engaging narrative.

As with all our games, No Experience Necessary! - Shadowdark RPG - The Ruins of Yid Garuk One-ShotHero's Hearth, Cincinnati, OH
Two nights ago, a raiding party of orcs and goblins was spotted in the woods near the quiet village of Birch Hollow. Last night, they struck. Now, you and the few survivors are fleeing for your lives.
You’ve reached the entrance to Yid Garuk, a long-abandoned dwarven stronghold buried in the nearby hills. If you can navigate its shadowy halls and reach the inner sanctum, you may be able to barricade yourselves inside—at least long enough for help to arrive.
But the path ahead is treacherous. The ruins are riddled with traps, cloaked in darkness, and home to things far worse than goblins. And close behind, a war band of orcs, goblins, and snarling wargs is on your trail.
Can you survive the depths of Yid Garuk before they catch you?
Based on The Ruins of Yid Garuk by Jake House, this one-shot adventure is a gauntlet (also called a funnel) for 0-level characters using the Shadowdark rules. Pregenerated characters provided.
About Shadowdark: Shadowdark RPG is a fantasy adventure game where you and your companions delve into buried ruins, lost cities, spider-infested forests, and even fearsome dragon lairs in search of gold and glory. It is rules-light and intuitive, encouraging quick decisions rather than hunting through the rulebook for answers. It is a call back to old editions of Dungeons & Dragons, but incorporates modern mechanics and concepts to streamline play.
