Shawnee Lookout: Little Turtle and Miami Fort Trails

Let’s take the Little Turtle and Miami Fort Trails at Shawnee Lookout! Both offer beautiful views of the Ohio river, and though the leaves are past peak, we will still have some pretty colors and wonderful views from the hillsides. The Little Turtle Trail is about 2 miles long and includes a view of a prehistoric Native American burial mound. The Miami Fort Trail goes through a Native American earthwork and is about 1.4 miles long. This trail includes a view of the Ohio river that will allow us to see Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky at the same time.

The Great Parks system has rated these trails as moderate. Many of the restrooms and water fountains are closed for the season, so be aware of that before you arrive.

This park does have an entrance fee. If you live in Hamilton County, it is $5 a day or $10 for a membership through the end of the year. Non-Residents are $8 a day or $16 through the end of the year.
