What we’re about

Welcome to the Holy Spirit Family of Faith Church Plant Meetup! Have you ever wondered why we have more mega churches than ever, but the majority of society and the world is becoming more and more ungodly? Have you been in church, but your life hasn’t really changed…you aren’t experiencing the personal transformation you thought you would? Have you ever thought that the mainstream translations of the Bible seems to present a contradictory view of what women can do in God’s kingdom? Not that the original language is contradictory, but that the way it has been translated has women forbidden to teach in 1 Tim 2 and yet prophesying, which is a form of teaching, in 1 Cor. 11. Could many of the problems and abuse people experience in the church be due to a distorted understanding of God and also of the gospel, having Jesus taking on the roles the Bible says actually belong to the Holy Spirit? Could it be that our whole understanding of the Trinity being all male and Jesus having two Divine Dads is not the image of God humans are made in? If you are interested in learning the evidence of the Holy Spirit being female in the Old Testament—including how the Hebrew word for spirit, ruach, is not exclusively a grammatically feminine noun, but in reference to the Holy Spirit is always feminine, and other evidence that would indicate the Holy Spirit being a female person of the Trinity, along with alternative ways to read passages related to women that indicate the Bible is passionately for equality between males and females, then this church plant might be for you. The Holy Spirit Family of Faith would seek to define man and woman biblically and provide an environment where both sexes feel empowered. If you are a critical, independent thinker, or at least someone who would be open to equality between men and women in marriage and church if Biblical authority could be shown for it, then you may be interested in attending meetings describing the Holy Spirit Family’s positions on various topics and its vision. The first meeting will be Sunday May 18 from 2 to 4 pm, and location will soon be determined and announced based on the number of people showing interest by registering or signing up for this event. So, be sure to respond and indicate your interest through MeetUp and then add the date and time onto a calendar.
