Cincinnati Lean Startup Circle Meetup
Details
First 45 min:
Adam Treister (https://twitter.com/treister_adam) will talk about his lean startup experience at StudentDesigned (http://studentdesigned.com) and life at the business acccelerator UpTech (http://www.uptechideas.org/). Ry Walker (http://twitter.com/rywalker) will give overview of first two steps in the Running Lean Methodology (http://runningleanhq.com/): "Document your Plan A" and "Identify the Riskiest Parts of your Plan". Second 45 min:
We'll take a volunteer from the audience (will it be YOU?), and build a lean canvas RIGHT THEN AND THERE for the idea. If we have too many people, we can break up into teams, and work on multiple ideas. We'll then present the canvas(es) to the group, identify the riskiest parts of the plan, and even develop some falsifiable hypotheses (http://www.ashmaurya.com/2010/09/lean-startup-is-a-rigorous-process/) if time permits. Members with some experience with Running Lean can coach & educate those who are newbs :)
HOMEWORK:
At least watch the 2-minute video overview of Running Lean (http://runningleanhq.com/) (middle of the page). For the more ambitious of you, sign up for the 7-day lean canvas course (http://spark59.com/courses/leancanvas). It'll automatically send you a short video each day that builds on the previous day. Just remember to start it before Oct 4th :) If you have any questions, kick the tires @ Crowdhall in my Lean Startup Q&A hall (http://crowdhall.com/rywalker/halls/2C69x4hr-lean-startup-q-a). (And if you do, give my good friends @ Crowdhall (http://twitter.com/crowdhall) feedback on twitter, they just launched this week.)
