Navigating Chemical Space: The Cartographer's Dilemma
Details
LOCATION CHANGE: Normally we meet at the Clifton Branch Library, but we'll be meeting at the Hyde Park Library due to availability issues.
High-dimensional chemical data offers detail but defies human intuition. To navigate it, we must compress it. This presentation synthesizes findings from two pivotal studies (Lovrić et al. & Orlov et al.) to provide a decision matrix for modern cheminformatics: when to embed for the machine (prediction) and when to embed for the eye (insight).
