Session1 - PaaS it On: Learnings from Launching Sitecore on Azure PaaS

Learn first-hand about one Sitecore client’s experience with Azure PaaS. This talk will include getting a new site up and running, continuous integration with Team Foundation Server (TFS), optimized item deployment with Hedgehog Team Development for Sitecore (TDS), and how Western & Southern is utilizing its Azure resources, including zero downtime deployments with Deployment Slots.

Speaker Bio: Criss Titschinger / Technical Analyst
It’s hard to believe it’s been over 15 years since Criss responded to a newspaper ad for a Web Programmer job that became his first job out of college. Criss has taken on many roles during this time, including Web Programmer, Systems Analyst, Solutions Manager, and more. His current role is Technical Analyst at Western & Southern Financial Group, where his main responsibilities are the Sitecore implementation of westernsouthern.com and its setup on Microsoft Azure.

Prior to Western & Southern, Criss spent 10 years at POSSIBLE (formerly Bridge Worldwide), working on a wide range of projects. One particular project was a Sitecore implementation, working in partnership with the POSSIBLE team out of Hungary, led by Tamás Varga (now with Sitecore). More recently, Criss spent 2.5 years at Tremor, a brand engagement firm, as the only IT employee. His primary responsibility was managing technical production for Vocalpoint.com, based on the Drupal platform, along with a myriad of other IT responsibilities.

When he’s not driving home technical solutions, he can be found driving Srixon Z-Star golf balls, or driving around his two daughters to various activities.

We will be serving Lunch.
