Ohio River Walk
Details
Most evenings I enjoy walking along the Ohio River, and I thought it would be fun to share the route and see if others would like to join.
Route: 5.7 miles
We start from the Kentucky side and head directly toward the Ohio side.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the route so you can get a better idea.
Highlights along the way:
- Cincinnati skyline from the Kentucky side
- Walk across the Roebling Bridge
- Historic District in Covington
- Murals near Covington Plaza
- Smale Park
- American Queen Paddle Wheel
- Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman’s Cove
- All 11 sections of Friendship Park
- Purple People Bridge (we’ll see it but won’t walk across it)
- Statue of Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus
- Crystalline Tower (the turnaround point in Friendship Park before heading back to Covington Yard)
Pace:
We’ll aim for about 3.3 miles/hour, but we can adjust based on the group’s comfort.
Parking:
There is plenty of parking opposite Covington Yard, so finding a spot should be easy. If you have trouble, feel free to reach out.
Weather:
If the weather is poor, I will cancel the event.
Timing:
If you’re running late, please message me and I’ll wait for a short time.
Note:
This is a flat walk, so please choose comfortable walking shoes.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing you all!
