This session will walk through how to use text analytics APIs in Azure cognitive services, to analyze free form text responses to survey questions . We will learn how to parse key phrases, derive sentiment scores and how to effectively use Power BI visualizations like Word Cloud, Gauge, Histograms , etc to create a Dashboard for effectively analyzing this data. We will browse through emotional classification & word correlation in R.

Session Goals

Understand how to use Azure Cognitive Services APIs for analyzing text data
Learn how to load and prepare your data in Power BI and augment it by invoking Azure Cognitive Services APIs directly from PowerBI
Learn various relevant data visualization techniques for building effective dashboards for qualitative text data
Learn how to do similar analysis in R

Sanil Mhatre is a Senior Data Engineer, currently focused on delivering Analytical insights for a large Technology solutions & Services company in Missouri. He has a Master's degree in Information systems and enjoys working with various Data processing technologies, analytics tools and visualization platforms. Sanil has worked with Data in various roles in the IT Industry for over 15 years

Sanil has a keen interest in Data Science, is an active member in the Data & Analytics technology community and a frequent speaker at technical conferences &user groups. He volunteers with STEM mentorship programs, blogs and loves to keep up with developments in the fields of Machine Learning & AI. When Sanil isn't working he enjoys spending time with family and friends, tasting craft beer and hiking with his dogs.
