From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_Summer):
Early Summer (麦秋 Bakushū? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Installing_Japanese_character_sets)) is a 1951 film (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1951_in_film) by Yasujirō Ozu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasujir%C5%8D_Ozu). Like most of Ozu's post-war films, Early Summer deals with many issues ranging from communication problems between generations to the rising role of women in post-war Japan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan).
Noriko lives contentedly in an extended family household that includes her parents and her brother's family, but an uncle's visit prompts the family to find her a husband.
