Andrea Arnold (American Honey, Fish Tank) returns with a story full of rebellious energy and pulsating music about the fragile power of youth. Twelve-year-old Bailey (Adams) lives with her head-to-toe tattooed father, Bug (Keoghan), and older brother, Hunter, in a small town in eastern England. Despite warm feelings and good intentions, the immature Bug devotes more time to his new partner and searching for ways to make money than to his sensitive daughter. Left alone and misunderstood, the teenager befriends a stranger, the titular Bird (Rogowski). Their summer wanderings, searching for traces of the past, will allow Bailey to spread her wings and believe in herself.
Bird, which captivated audiences at last year's Cannes Film Festival, is a tender portrait of growing up in a hostile world. The film's protagonists, Arnold, tirelessly searching for intimacy, security, and love, are supported by music from the iconic British producer Burial. The soundtrack also features hits from bands such as Fontaines DC, Blur, The Verve, and early Coldplay.
Cinemino Kraków – Expats and Locals Cinema Meetings is an event open to every movie enthusiast who wants to discuss movies in a friendly and open-minded community. This meeting follows the principle that cinema is about different perspectives, and every person can contribute with his/her/them view on the movie.Once every two-three weeks, we will meet in the Kino Pod Baranami for a movie with English subtitles (or an English-speaking movie) and a follow-up get-together to share impressions and create a community of movie enthusiasts.
