December 2025 CINLUG Meeting — Btrfs
Details
Btrfs has been the default file system for openSUSE since openSuSE 13.2 in 2014. Fedora Linux followed suit in late 2020 with Fedora Linux 33. Just this year, Alma Linux started supporting Btrfs in version 10.1 of their distribution.
Come to Central INdiana Linux User Group's (CINLUG's) December meeting to learn more about this next generation file system where Neal Gompa[1] will provide an overview of it, a bit of its history, and how to get started using it!
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 18:30 (6:30 PM) EST.
CINLUG thanks Moser Consulting for hosting our meetings at their facility. (There will be a phone number at the entrance to call to be let into the building.) The meeting will be simultaneously broadcast over this Jitsi Meet URL for those who cannot attend in person. (Though in-person attendance is encouraged. *After the meeting, we plan to go to the nearby Red Robin restaurant for drinks and camaraderie! Plan to `make it a night`!*)
CINLUG meetings are the 1st Wednesday of every month, so please block that night off in your calendar to keep it available. You are also encouraged to sign up for our mailing lists and to follow us on our various social media sites[2] to receive announcements and participate in discussions.
