You are invited to join us for Circle Dancing on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month from 7pm to 8:30pm at
Friends Meeting
530 26th Ave N
Nashville TN 37209.
Circle dance has been happening all over the world, for a very, very long time. It is a collection of dances and music from many cultures, shared by individuals who feel called to do so. We do traditional dances from around the world (Greece, Israel, Scotland, Russia, France, North and South America, etc.) along with newly choreographed dances to a variety of world music. Dances range from slow and meditative to quite lively. No partner, dance experience, or special skills of any kind are needed. Each dance is taught just before it is done. Beginners are always welcome. Circle Dance is a means for relaxation, joy, growth, awareness and healing. I like to think of it as a moving meditation with occasional cardio action. Also known as Sacred Dance or World Dance, it was fostered at Findhorn, a spiritual community in Scotland, and is now shared around the world. We have danced in Nashville since 1986. We continue this tradition today, dancing on the First and Third Friday of each month. Friends Meeting [Quaker Church] asks us not to wear street shoes while dancing so as not to damage the beautiful wooden floor. Socks, bare feet or dancing shoes [that have not been worn outside] are options. There is a $5.00 donation requested per person for use of this lovely space.
Thank you and hope to see you at Circle Dance Nashville. If you arrive after 7:30 and the door is locked, please ring the bell to the right of the door and you can shine a light thru the window to the left to catch our attention. When the current dance is completed, we will be happy to let you in.
