Possible CircleSing (may need to be canceled or date changed)

Details
There are many ways that people have tried to describe this wonderful form that we call CircleSinging (spontaneous choral music, drum circle for singers...). While there are no words that can truly convey what it's like to experience CircleSinging, here's a description that borrows from what WeBe3 (Rhiannon, David Worm & Joey Blake) have said about it:
A participatory ritual which allows for a sharing of culture through the medium of music, the voice in all its forms and colors. Singers gather in a circle with a leader/facilitator/conductor, in the center, who improvises repeated parts (musical phrases, patterns, loops…) to be sung at the same time by different sections of the circle. These parts are changed and shifted by the facilitator, allowing the singing to continue for long stretches, creating a rich, deep and joyful experience, calling forth a wonderfully primal connectedness among the singers.
There will be opportunities for participants to solo over this improvised choral music (or “vocal orchestra “) and possibly create parts, themselves. Because we sing in an invented language in this form, it is accessible across borders and cultures, making it possible to create this musical magic anywhere on the planet.
Admission is $15 - $30 sliding scale. Please be generous to the extent you can afford. (No one will be turned away for lack of funds.) For more information, please contact Ben at 917-362-8918.
