What we’re about
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization empowering people to exercise their personal and political power. Our chapter is just one of hundreds of chapters across the world working to create the political will for a livable world.
We are focused on a specific piece of legislation and have a proven strategy to gain its passage. We are working towards a Carbon Fee and Dividend, the climate change solution economists and climate scientists identify as the “best first step” to prevent the worst impacts of a warming world.
Our market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy will drastically reduce emissions, create jobs, and support small businesses and families — all without growing government.
We’ve seen firsthand how passionate citizens with a good system of support can more than influence the political process.
Citizens' Climate Lobby Memphis is part of the Tennessee At-Large chapter.

See all- In-Person Meeting at Belltower Coffee on HighlandBelltower Coffee and Wine Bar, Memphis, TN
Come join us for some coffee and to reach out to our members of congress. We are handwriting letters for our Republican members of Congress, urging them to protect the IRA’s clean energy tax credits—which account for about half the emissions reduction benefit from the IRA. We will have templates available for you and will hand deliver these letters to their district offices.
In Tennessee since 2022, the private investment in 28 projects has been over $5.4 billion with over 4800 jobs announced. Most of these facilities manufacture electric vehicles, batteries for EVs, or components for EVs or their batteries.
There are also nine that are either solar power producers or manufacturers of components for solar power. Ford’s Blue Oval City, which represents another $6 billion, was announced earlier.
Repealing the energy tax credits, including the EV tax credit, would undermine this private investment, stall economic growth, and destroy Tennessee jobs.
If you want to see the data or lean more, click here.
We will be available at Belltower on Highland until 3 pm if you want to swing by and drop off a letter or learn more about CCL.
We are starting these monthly in-person meetings on the first Saturday every month at Belltower Coffee on Highland. We also meet on Zoom on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
