Hike The Cape Wrath Trail (Stage 2)

Details
This is the second stage of back-to-back, 1-week trips, in total taking in the entire Cape Wrath Trail, an unofficial long-distance route from the foot of Ben Nevis, to the far north-west coast of Scotland.
You can join for 1-week, 2-weeks* or for all 3-weeks** of awesome, remote hiking!

Stage 2: https://www.meetup.com/city-mountaineering-expeditions/events/305093081/
Stage 3: https://www.meetup.com/city-mountaineering-expeditions/events/305093279/
This is a little trodden and for the most part deserted route of 350km (220 miles) amongst some of the most remote and beautiful areas of the UK.
- Week 1: 110km (easiest)
- Week 2: 130km (toughest)
- Week 3: 120km (moderate)
There are no waymarks for the route and many sections do not even have a path. However; the route is familiar to us and the rewards as you walk south from the most northerly point on the island are many in terms of:
• Spectacular mountain views - passing many mountain ranges that are often considered to be the best the UK has to offer (The Assynt is our particular favourite :)
• Coastal scenery - from beaches to cliff-tops in areas that are remarkable but almost unvisited
• Visiting remote communities, and;
• Superb opportunities for watching wildlife.
This route has been devised for those who prefer to get well away from the beaten track and is a trip never to be forgotten!

ITINERARY
Sunday (14:00): collection from Inverness airport/train station, drive to our accommodation for a trip briefing, kit check and to ready ourselves for the adventure ahead.
Monday (17km): We will begin this stage walking near Glen Affric and the site of the rare Scottish Wild Cat. We will pass huge, hidden waterfalls and remote lochs and will camp either on a mountain top, or next to a high mountain lake
Tuesday (18km): Continuing on our valley hikes, we will follow the river as it meanders its way through the mountains and woodlands of Achnashellach
Wednesday (18km): Most of today will be along good footpaths as our journey continues north to Kinlochewe, with views of the huge Beinn Eighe and towards the impressive mountain of Slioch
Thursday (16km): This is a relatively easy day, as we hike along the shores of loch as we head to a remote glen for the nights camp
Friday (18km): Passing Slioch, we will head to An Teallach and a camp at the foot of the mountain
Saturday (18km): Leaving An Teallach behind us, we head east to Inerlael Forest and Glen Douchery.
Sunday (15km): We complete the final day of this section as we hike through the valley to Oykel Bridge.
We will then be transported to our accommodation for the night for a well earned shower and pub meal
Monday: For those departing, you will be transported to Inverness around midday (expect to be in Inverness for 1pm) for your return home.
For those staying on for the final week of the adventure, you will have the morning and early afternoon to rest and explore the local area, before we continue on our journey in the evening
