From the Packhorse Inn, the route goes south through snicketts and fields to Wythall Country Park which is a private park held in trust for the community. After a circuit here we go west to Malt House Farm, crossing fields to join the North Worcestershire path temporarily. The route then circuits Kings Norton golf club through woodlands and emerges near St Mary’s decommissioned church. Following the lane, we enter Becketts Farm and make our way to the Sunflower display. It will be busy but we will have our snack, coffee and toilet break here. Having admired the display, we exit Becketts and return via lanes and fields to the Packhorse Inn. For those on the bus, we’ll continue on footpaths north, to the Alcester Road and on the Maypole Roundabout to catch our buses home. Terrain: Field paths, woodland paths, lanes and tracks with some muddy patches. About 6 stiles. Becketts started planting fields of Sunflowers and wild flowers in 2021. They invite donations and raise funds for a chosen charity. Hopefully, the flowers will be dazzling us at the end of July.
