We're convening to share reactions to The Vanishing Half (Brit Bennett) in a relaxed and open group setting, and you rarely leave without a new perspective.

No requirement to finish — come wherever you are in the book, and note a scene or passage that struck you, and bring your favourite moments — since genuine impressions beat polished opinions every time.

The evening is shaped by who is in the room — with every reading welcomed however unexpected, and the combination of voices in the room is what makes each session unique.

You are welcome whether this is your first session or your fiftieth — and the only thing you need is an interest in the book and good conversation, all you need is yourself and an opinion, and you will leave having said more than you thought you would.

The evening in brief:

1. Everyone finds a seat and the discussion opens whenever the group is ready
2. The conversation opens up and covers whatever the group finds most interesting
3. At some point toward the end the group votes on or suggests next month's read

💡 Helpful hint: note the one character or moment that felt most surprising, because it takes thirty seconds and pays off for the entire session, and first-timers who do this always find it easier to settle in.
