Birka Day Trip – Explore Sweden’s First City by Boat

Details

Visiting or living in Stockholm?
Join us on a full-day trip to Birka Viking City, where history, nature, and Swedish summer vibes come together.

You’ll be meeting Dimitar, who will be the organizer on-site and guide the group for the day (I won’t be joining this trip myself).

You’ll travel by boat from Klara Mälarstrand to the island of Björkö, where Birka once stood – Sweden’s first real city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On the way, enjoy a guided tour that continues once we arrive, taking you through the Viking village, museum, and archaeological site (all included in your ticket).
You’ll have free time to explore, take photos, and soak in the atmosphere of this historic place.

You can also hop on or off at any of the intermediate docks along the route.

### Who’s it for?

Anyone curious about Viking history, beautiful archipelago views, or just a unique day out in nature. Perfect for locals, visitors, families, and history buffs alike.
