Discussion: LGBTQIA+

This discussion will explore a wide range of topics related to LGBTQIA+ identities and rights in the United States, with particular attention to developments during and since the Trump administration. We’ll examine issues that have sparked national conversation, such as transgender participation in women’s sports, access to bathrooms and locker rooms, military service, and the use of personal pronouns. We’ll also look at policy debates surrounding gender-affirming medical care, the legality and regulation of conversion therapy, the current status of same-sex marriage laws, and how religious beliefs intersect with evolving views on sexuality and gender. In addition, the conversation will consider how multiple gender identities and sexual orientations are represented in public life, and what challenges LGBTQIA+ individuals may be facing today.
