In-Person Project Night

Details
Civic Tech DC (formerly Code for DC) is excited to announce our next Project Night, happening on October 25th at Taoti Creative (they’re hiring!). Join us for an evening of collaborative problem-solving as we work on a variety of civic tech projects together. Project needs vary but often include brainstorming, researching, writing, coding, or analyzing data.
Meet other civic tech enthusiasts. Learn new skills. Contribute to a project to improve a local civic issue. All are welcome and collaboration is encouraged. Laptops are recommended but not required.
This time we’ll be hearing from Annette Olson from the DC Tool Library and Green Neighbors DC. The tool library is a community volunteer effort to secure funding, manage donations, purchase tools, and lend out tools for DC residents to use for free. The program focuses on community building, sharing resources for a more sustainable future, and disaster resilience by providing tools during emergencies.
Food and Beverages are being sponsored by Fearless Tech.
Rough schedule:
6:30–7:00pm — Show up, check in, and hang out
7:00–7:15pm — Introductions, and announcements
7:15-7:30pm — DC Tool Library presentation
7:30–8:50pm — Break out into project groups
8:50–9:00pm — Reconvene to discuss what we accomplished
