On October 19th, the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development launched the Student Pathways Challenge (https://studentpathwayschallenge.ca/).
The Ministry recognized that labour market information – i.e. information about jobs and salaries, current employment conditions and future trends – is rarely, if ever, consulted when a high school student is trying to decide what to do after high school.
The Ministry also recognized that various other factors heavily influenced a student’s awareness of the various education, training and employment available.
This led to the development of a 6-week challenge that seeks to answer the following question: How might we help high school students gain a better understanding of available career opportunities and the pathways to get there by means of a digital tool?
By participating in the Challenge you’ll help develop meaningful solutions for high school students and be eligible to win up to $30,000.
