This week is special—we're unveiling the Connected KW Volunteer Directory, a tool that connects skilled volunteers with local organizations for knowledge-sharing and collaboration. After 12 weeks of development, we're excited to showcase our work and host our first in-person consultation sessions with community organizations!

Hear from local organizations about their missions and challenges:

  • Waterloo Public Library: planning a potential robotics/tech learning space at the John Harper branch
  • Midtown Radio: building a listening app for their online radio station
  • Plan to End Chronic Homelessness: creating a data dashboard and public-facing resource site

💡 7:00 - 7:30 | One-on-one Consultations
Our guest organizations will sit down with skilled volunteers for one-on-one brainstorming and problem-solving sessions. Participants can observe or sign up for a session with an available volunteer. Afterward, we’ll share key takeaways.

What is CivicTechWR?

CivicTechWR brings together people from different sectors and industries to actively solve issues facing our local community. We welcome people with all types and levels of skills. Even though "tech" is in the name, everyone is welcome and everyone has a skill or experience that is valuable. We're here to empower people to work together, exchange ideas and tools to improve the lives of the residents in and around Waterloo Region through civic technology.
