Improved Weather Forecasting Through Better Data and Generative AI

Details

Weather events continue to get seemingly more extreme and unpredictable. This can hamper not only your commute to work but can also impact business operations and affect planning in an uncertain future.

This November 12th at 7pm on Zoom for CivicTechYYC we are hosting Craig MacRitchie, the co-founder and CTO of Erode AI, a ClimateTech startup delivering weather forecasts through generative AI, moving beyond traditional physics-based models. Erode AI provides better data including location-specific reports, and better access with an intuitive user interface with more compatible files, all allowing for better decisions that are long lasting. Features like probabilistic weather forecasts, rainfall return periods, instant risk profiles, including monitoring and alerts, enable planning for the long term, while providing understanding the near-term risks and potential changes to long term outcomes with deeper evolving insights.

Come out and learn about Erode and Craig’s unique new approach and how it can impact the civic space enabling a more climate resilient world. We look forward to seeing you there.

About Craig MacRitchie:
Craig holds a background in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Guelph and transitioned into software development after completing SAIT’s Object-Oriented Software Development program. Following various software roles in the Calgary area, Craig, alongside co-founder Dr. Cody Kupferschmidt, committed to Erode AI full-time in June 2023.
