## Fire Crafting, Knots and 10 Essentials Presentation

Join us on April 10th at the Nature Center at Holliday Park in Indianapolis for demonstrations on fire building, knot tying, and the 10 Essentials.

Fire Crafting: We will present an overview of the ways that fire is used in wilderness/camping settings and why fire safety is one of the more important areas of backcountry safety. This will include a demonstration of how to start and maintain a fire and how to safely manage it.

Knots for hiking and the backcountry: A discussion and demonstration of the key knots used in camping and backing will be discussed. This will include knots to set up tarps, hang bags, and secure gear.

10 essentials: A review of the 10 essentials that every person needs to remain safe on any outdoor adventure. We will discuss and show the 10 essentials and discuss how to pack and use these for your activities.
