ZOOM PASSCODE: 508004
Overcoming Procrastination and Forging Discipline:
This session has been developed off the back of "Motivation Mastery" and "Where do I start?" due to the overwhelming response to RSVP question relating to preferred topic: Building discipline. No discussion about discipline would be complete without recognising the barrier that is procrastination.

Procrastination is an aversion to an emotion -
We often assume that procrastination can be overcome with better time management. You may be relieved to know that procrastination has very little to do with managing time more effectively.

We procrastinate when we don't yet have enough energy to complete the known task or activity, and we attempt to use the deadline (whether consciously or subconsciously) as a way to generate urgency that will finally allow us to focus and complete the task. During the first half of this MeetUp I will go into:

  • What procrastination is
  • When we are most likely to procrastinate
  • Share useful tools to defeat procrastination.

Discipline is the capacity of requiring minimal activation energy -
We may hear from prominent speakers in the realm of discipline that 'discipline eats motivation for breakfast'. This is true... And breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and so discipline does in fact begin with motivation.

Discipline involves being able to engage in or commence an activity or task without requiring high levels of motivation or alertness. During the second half of the MeetUp I will go into:

  • What discipline is
  • How to frame discipline
  • Provide actionable strategies for forging discipline for anything.

**Sessions will be recorded for YouTube**
