Basic Photography Workshop by Livingston Camera Club

Details

Livingston Camera Club is hosting a Basic Photography Workshop on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Livingston Senior/Community Center. Non Members are welcome.

John Scalera, professional Photographer and Photo Instructor, will do an interactive presentation on Photography Basics. This introductory workshop is geared towards the beginner/amateur photographer who is interested in learning about the various features, modes and capabilities of their DSLR/MIrrorless camera.

The course will cover several topics including:

  • Camera Anatomy-covering the camera settings and how they can be used to obtain technical control of your images.
  • Capture-focusing on exposure, lighting, shutter speed, aperture and additional camera settings to enhance your creative control.
  • Photo Composition-which will show you how to frame the scene in a viewfinder and will explore other compositional techniques.

John does a great presentation and we encourage everyone who would like to learn more about their camera to attend. The meeting is open to the public. There is a $15 fee for non Livingston Camera Club members. (This fee will be applied to your membership if you decide to join the club.)

Bring your camera and camera manual. We will answer your questions and show you where the various tools are on your camera. (Note: this course is not designed for point and shoot cameras, but they are welcome also.)

Livingston Camera Club is a group of individuals who look to share their love of photography.
