Do you like photography and have photos you would like to share? Sparta Camera Club is hosting a Print Competition and Exhibition in Sparta, NJ the end of October and beginning of November. Anyone can enter. You do not have to be a member of Sparta Camera Club to enter.
You can enter up to 5 photos in a wide variety of categories. Are you a beginner or student? We have separate categories just for you! Photos must be printed and matted in a 16 x 20 inch mat with a backboard. The deadline to enter is October 25 at our drop off locations (see below) and October 29th at the club. Photos can be dropped off at three locations: Helrick's in Dover, Sparta Photo in Sparta and Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council in Newton (addresses on the entry form).
The competition is on November 5 at the Sparta Ambulance Building. Three independent judges will judge the photos. Ribbons are awarded for all categories including Best in Show. Following the competition, there will be a two day public Exhibition on November 15 & 16 of all of the photos. Photos can be sold at this exhibition.
The exhibition also includes a Silent Auction, critiques by professional photographers on the photos, and on that Saturday evening, there is an artists' reception at which food and beverages are provided and the Best in Show and Best in Class Awards are given out.
With EXPO 40, the club is celebrating 40 years of competitions and club events. There will be a special display showcasing the club's history during the event.
