Stoner - John Williams

"Stoner" (1965) recently came out of nowhere as being a fashionable read. It's about a guy, Stoner, whose life is disappointing on its surface but still beating with the hope to find love and happiness. The writing has a beautiful simplicity that is easy to overlook. We will discuss Stoner as protagonist / hero and explore what makes the novel so relevant today.
