The Black Pirate (1926-SILENT)

Details

Movie is FREE!!

1926 silent swashbuckler with the king of swashbucklers, Douglas Fairbanks. The movie is in two strip technicolor, an extreme rarity for film in those days.

I urge all to be there early, as it is conceivable that this small theater could be filled to capacity. Doors open 30 minutes before the show, if I understand their directions correctly. Right now the owners are on vacation. When they return I will ask if there is a need to register our goal to attend

Ample parking is located on the street sides or in the large free parking lot at the end of the strip mall the theater is located in.

As I have said before, I don't usually describe movies because I prefer to allow the film to invite me into its world of adventure and entertainment. I've never seen this one, so all of us can be entertained or bored together. BUT--Douglas Fairbanks was known for his adventure flicks, so I imagine it's pretty good. AND the fact that it was filmed in expensive Technicolor shows that this was meant to be something more than your average movie.

OH, YES. EVEN THOUGH THE MOVIE IS SILENT, WE, THE AUDIENCE IS URGED TO SPEAK IN PIRATE BY READING THE SUBTITLES OUT LOUD!
