Announcing a new Meetup for The Santa Cruz Classical Music, Theater, Dance Meetup Group!

What: Shakespeare Santa Cruz: Love's Labor's Lost

When: Saturday, July 24,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
UCSC Theater Arts Center
1156 High St.
Santa Cruz, CA 95064
[masked]

Summer is a fantastic time for the arts in Santa Cruz, with two world-class festivals back-to-back: Shakespeare Santa Cruz and the Cabrillo Music Festival. Our meetup group will attend one performance at each festival, beginning with opening night of Shakespeare's Love's Labor's Lost in the Festival Glen. What happens when the Princess of France and her entourage of lovely young women arrive at King Ferdinand's court, where the young men have sworn off women for the sake of their studies? Romance, comedy, wit -- Love's Labor's Lost should be great fun. Learn more about the play here: http://shakespearesantacruz.org/season/loves_labors_los.php

As in past years, we will purchase General Admission tickets. We will meet in the Festival Glen for a shared picnic dinner at 7. Plan on arriving no later than 6:30 to allow time to park and get through the admission line. Look for my red beret and my blue-and-white striped blanket, front and center in the general seating area. As a season-ticket holder, I will arrive early and wait in the priority line for first dibs on these prime seats. Bring a low chair, or you can rent one there for $2. Also bring a warm jacket and hat -- it gets cold at night!

For our picnic, bring a main dish for yourself and a side dish to share. I will bring dessert for all.

Opening night for Love's Labor's Lost is likely to sell out. I suggest you purchase your General Admission ticket as soon as possible, either online at http://www.shakespear..., or by phone:[masked]-2159.

As a courtesy to our fellow members, some of whom may be on the waiting list, please be sure to change your RSVP if your plans change. Thanks!
