The Pasadena Community Orchestra performs free concerts featuring musicians from the local area. Live orchestral music is a special experience! hear a work by a rarely heard African-American composer, Julia Perry. And our Young Artist Competition winner, violinist Minji Choi will thrill you with some Sibelius. And the evening ends with a symphony by Dvorak - bask in his smooth melodies and lush orchestration. Join us as we listen to wonderful music, enthusiastically performed!
Program:
- Julia Perry - A Short Piece for Orchestra
- Jean Sibelius - Violin Concerto in D minor (first movement)
- with Minji Choi, violin (2024-25 Winner, YAC Junior Division)
- Antonin Dvorak - Symphony No. 8
Meetup: in lobby at 7:15pm to chat about music, or go into the auditorium to hear the pre-concert discussion. Concert starts promptly at 8:00pm.
