What we’re about
One of the hidden gems in San Jose, California is the rich offering of great classical music events throughout the year.
This group aspires to connect classical music lovers in the greater San Francisco Bay area to join in enjoying the rich offering of live events and support the local music societies that produce these events. To that end, we will be creating notices for all classical music events in the Bay Area from San Francisco down to Monterey, both sides of the Santa Cruz mountains.
If you love live, classical music events, this Meetup Group is for you.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- The Great Gilbert & Sullivan Sing-Off! - First of three showingsSaratoga Civic Theater, Saratoga, CA
Don’t miss this clever, comedic showdown where three fictional theatre troupes battle it out in a whimsical Gilbert & Sullivan Festival!
The three fictional theater companies are competing in a Gilbert & Sullivan Festival, performing musical numbers drawn from throughout the Gilbert & Sullivan canon. One company is very traditional in their presentations, while another company is very non-traditional, indulging in things like gender-swapped characters, updated lyrics, and modern references. The third company is unlucky; somehow or other, everything they try to do goes wrong in some way: the lead forgets the lyrics, or the supertitles operator goes rogue, or the choreography turns into a train wreck.
Tension builds between the three companies throughout the show until the final winner is chosen through an audience vote.More information: www.lyrictheatre.org/offerings-2025
