About us
This is going to be the first of its kind Classical Music Open Mic in Los Angeles, where people who love classical music will have the opportunity to perform in an informal environment in front of others.
The idea is to create a relaxed, welcoming performance space for those who love classical music - whether they're returning to the piano after years away, or musicians from other genres who want a chance to play the Bach or Chopin they once learned and loved! The goal is to enjoy music, have a reason to practice and perform classical music, and make it a little more approachable!
Location/instruments provided: Pantheon Coffee in West Hollywood has agreed to host us, and they have a lovely upright piano that will be provided. Any other instruments you will have to bring with you.
What to play: In terms of what counts as classical music - use your best judgment! I'm not going to be a stickler here. Feel free to play something you're currently working on, even if it's just a few pages. You can have it memorized or not - up to you. Depending on the number of performers, I may set a time limit of 5-7 minutes per person, but that will vary depending on attendance. Duets and trios are totally fine; vocalists are also welcome as well.
Feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Look forward to seeing you!
