By the light of Solanus, Amana couldn’t believe what had just happened… that her comrades had agreed to ally with the very same villains who sought to end their lives… villains who trafficked in necromancy and other foul, soul-trapping magics. Villains who clearly sought to ambush them, with the intent of a merciless death. Villains, who were allied with the likes of trolls and goblins and undead servants.

They had fought them in honest combat and they had prevailed. Her holy might had turned the undead servants and forced the troll to relinquish the strange crystal around its neck. The elfblade Lalo’s potent magics and combat finesse whittled down their numbers, while the gnome illusionist Morrissey’s color spray barrage proved to be just as effective as his evil counterpart, another gnome illusionist. Along with the barbarian Helena, whose mighty axe was a force to be reckoned with.

And now, that very same Helena, with the gnome illusionist, the wrath chanter and the necromancer tied up and subdued, she was now offering them a chance to join forces. The troll had left, relieved to be free of his enslavement, the goblins were dispatched and the undead minions were far gone. Victory was theirs… until it wasn’t.

She’d seen enough. She left, determined to return to Cain Lethellon and report this betrayal. Surely the bard would-

Her thought was then interrupted by the whisk of Helena’s axe, almost taking Amana’s head off her shoulders, as she evaded the attack at the very last moment. Amana gasped… the barbarian had fully succumbed to whatever evil promises these villains offered.

Amana begin to prepare a spell… but she’d forgotten about the barbarian’s wolf… but he hadn’t forgotten about her, as he leaped and savagely tore out her throat.

As her lifeblood dampened the soil, Amana struggled to hold on, hoping that one of her comrades would heal her in time… but they did nothing. In her last moments of consciousness, she watched as the gnome Morrissey snuck away, a pained look of regret on his face… perhaps her only last chance at redemption, for she knew he would indeed most likely return to Riverthrow and to the bard, to report this crime.

But then, her time for such consideration came to an end, as she turned her face to the sun… to the waning light of the day... and at last, to her goddess.
