We welcome conservationists of all ages to help clean up Berkeley beaches, bays, and waterways at our third-Saturday cleanups at Shorebird Park, 160 University Ave. Berkeley CA 94710.

Volunteers help compile data about trash and marine debris for one of the largest research projects in the world.

We meet at 9am and wrap-up by 11am. You are welcome to come at any time within that window to the Shorebird Park Nature Center at 160 University Ave, to receive a safety talk and supplies. Cleanup activities will take place along various areas of the Berkeley Waterfront.

Free parking is available in the Adventure Playground lot or any other than the inside harbor lots marked "L" or "M".

Buckets, bags, and gloves will be available for volunteers. If you are able, please help us to reduce plastic waste by bringing your own supplies:

  • Bring a bucket or reusable bag
  • Bring a lightweight pair of gardening gloves
  • Bring a filled, reusable water bottle

Participants can pre-register online or register in-person on the day of the event. All participants must complete a waiver. Youth under 18 must have a waiver completed by their legal guardian.

## REGISTER YOUR GROUP ONLINE

Organized groups (i.e. student organizations, service clubs, local businesses, scouting troops etc.) may also register online. Please direct individual participants to register themselves for the event. At checkout, mark "YES" when asked if you are part of an organized group. The next prompt will allow volunteers to list the name of their group.
If you have any questions, please call Shorebird Park Nature Center at (510) 981-6720 or email [naturecenter@cityofberkeley.info](https://berkeleyca.gov/community-recreation/events/naturecenter@cityofberkeley.info).

If a City of Berkeley staff member is not clearly present, they are most likely inside one of the two Nature Center buildings or at the Adventure Playground.

No mask or vaccination guidelines, although we will suggest that people maintain social distancing if they are not in the same household.

Thank you all for your interest to help the environment.
