The Declaration by the Prophet-Herald of the Bahá'í Faith on May 23, 1844, is considered the official beginning of the Faith. At this time, the Báb declared to Mullá Husayn that He was the Manifestation of God for this era.
"The Báb is a title meaning "The Gate" in Persian, given to Siyyid Alí Muhammad. The Declaration occurred in His home in Shíráz, in Iran.

Open to the Public, members of all faiths (and members of no faith) are welcome.
