“The Birthday Festival is come, and He Who is the Beauty of God, the All-Powerful, the All-Compelling, the All-Loving, hath ascended His throne. Well is it with the one who in this Day hath attained His presence and towards whom the gaze of God, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting, hath been directed.” ~Bahá’u’lláh
"This," ... "is the king of days," the "Day of God Himself," the "Day which shall never be followed by night," the "Springtime which autumn will never overtake," "the eye to past ages and centuries," for which "the soul of every Prophet of God, of every Divine Messenger, hath thirsted," for which "all the divers kindreds of the earth have yearned,…"
(Bahá’u’lláh, quoted by Shoghi Effendi, in God Passes By, p. 99)
The Prophet of the Bahá'í Faith, Bahá’u’lláh, was born in ancient Persia, now known as Iran, in 1817. We celebrate His birth, along with the Herald-Prophet, the Báb, in October each year. The Herald-Prophet, the Báb, was born in Shiraz, Persia, in 1819. His given name was Siyyid Alí Muhammad, a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. He took the title of the Báb, which translates to “The Gate”. Bahá'u'lláh was the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith, considered by adherents to be the Universal Manifestation of God who has ushered in a new age of world unity. His given name was Husayn-`Alí Nuri. He was born in Tihran. He took the title of Bahá’u’lláh after God revealed His station as the Prophet. The translation of this title is "The Divine Glory of God".

One of Bahá'u'lláh's famous quotes is: "The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established."
