About us
Cleveland Dragons is a dragon boat paddling team based in Cleveland, Ohio since 2016 and one of the two community clubs under the Cleveland Dragon Boat Association. We are a community based, competitive, volunteered driven team, fueled by passion for paddling and service. We are on a mission to promote Cleveland through dragon boat paddling by making a positive impact on those who we meet.
We believe that all Cleveland Dragons are equal when we step into the boat. We embrace different levels of ability, experience, and different roles on the team but regardless of our gender, age, size, hairline, ethnicity, we are ONE BOAT! ONE TEAM!!

Cleveland Dragons - Paddle Training (MAY-JUNE FOR NEW RECRUITS)
Merwin's Wharf, 1785 Merwin Ave, Cleveland, OH, USFirst time paddling
For the first time paddling, Nothing! No paddling experience! No swimming experience! will be required. We just need you, and your willingness to paddle with us. We will take care of everything else which include:- Safety devices
- Paddles & Boat(s)
- Waivers Complete Online
- Steersperson
- Trainer/Coach
Paddle Fee: $10 Pay paddling fee
DRESS CODE:
Aim to be comfortable: clothing should be comfortable and are quick drying or self wicking. Other things to consider when coming to dragon boat paddling:
· BOTTOMS: Shorts, track pants, leggings are all fine options
· TOP: T-shirts, muscle shirts, or anything that is again tech material or light (avoid cotton – it gets heavy when wet and take a while to dry)
· SHOES: water sandals, crocs, light weight trainers can all be worn, expect them to get soaked
· WATER BOTTLE – you will get thirsty, so bring a water bottle with you
· SUNSCREEN –outdoor sport so protects your skin. FYI: The sun reflects off the water and can double burn you!
· HAT/BANDANA – Should definitely be worn to keep the sun or rain or wind off your face
· SUNGLASSES – To protect from sun and water glare, don’t wear designer glasses as they may fall off your face, into the water, and be offered to the reservoir gods.Contact person - Rhonda - 440-773-7444
