BUT, and that’s a very big BUTT: sometimes people sign up BUT don’t come, and that makes me hangry!!! It also makes me want to start giving spankings — because then people who are on the waitlist don’t get a chance to come! So everybody loses. We don’t want everybody to lose, do we?! imagine yourself in their place. The worst part of it is, is that I don’t get to see your cutie patootie little face! And the rest of your friends here don’t get to see your cutie little patootie face either! We can’t have that, can we?!
Never fear I have fixed this problem:
So now you owe me a dollar. Yesssss a dollar. For realzzzzzz. And this is not just any dollar —this is a MAGICAL dollar!!! The US mint only makes magical dollars every 72 years, almost like Haley’s Comet!
This $1.00 goes to Meetup and reserves your spot! If I do not see this dollar from you by the deadline (in the title of the posting), then I will very very VERY
reluctantly have to move you to the waitlist and your spot is no longer guaranteed.
The $1.00 is non-refundable to hold your spot. If you can’t attend, please cancel so someone on the waitlist can join. If the one dollar is not paid by the deadline, you will be moved to the waitlist.
The Meetup site is cray cray and so I am inputting my payment methods for the MAGICAL $1 here; thank you for your patience:
PAYPAL: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/YTLQVTEM7KR8Q
VENMO: Please find AlexAndriaCESF
I will manually check in VENMO or PAYPAL to see if you have paid the MAGICAL $1, so do not be alarmed if your status on ‘Meetup’ still shows as ‘unpaid’.
Remember:
This $1.00 is separate from the cost of the activity which goes to the venue. I will always give you a means to pay the venue. Some venues don’t have a cost, but that does not mean you get out of paying Meetup the $1.00.
Capisce!!?
And now a drum roll please. I said drum. roll. Please!

Do you enjoy South Indian classical music and dance? Imagine the smooth sounds of the sitar, tabla, and sarod against the backdrop of bright flower chains, dazzling saris, and gem-studded scarves.
Back in 1767, Kakaria Tyagabrahmam aka Thyagaraja was born in Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state in India. He became a composer of Carnatic music, a form of Indian classical music. His music became well - respected as the theme of these amazing sounds are the 'act of glorifying God or a person'.
This festival takes place on the 5th day of the waning moon in the Hindu lunar month of Pushya EVERY YEAR and features musicians performing Thyagaraja's compositions. BUT, and that's a very big BUTT, we don't need to travel all the way to India to witness these beautiful works! All we have to do is mosey on down to the Music Building of Cleveland State University!
Please join me in celebrating at the Thyagaraja Festival! Feel free to wear your Indian attire and / comfortable clothes and get ready for some fun!
DETAIL including Tickets and food TBA when they update their website.
