Let’s take a walk in the woods! And this is just not any woods. This is the Cuyahoga National Park. Yesssss Ohio has its own national park. It ranked right up there with all the other national parks! We might not have Old Faithful, but we have other equally as amazing things if not even more amazing right here in our own backyard!
Bring your cameras / anything with a camera like your phone or your disposable, waterproof camera you used taking pictures of little fishes on your last vacation ‘cuz we are going to enjoy nature in all of its glorious splendor and beauty around us. I am going to give you some photo assignments as we walk along and enjoy the forest and of course enjoy spending time with one another!
This is a day where we can get in touch with Nature! Ahhhh yessss, Mother Nature! What would we do without Her!?!
Stop 1: Boston, Mills visitor center (meeting point ): we will meet here between 2 PM and 230 for a 230 start. This visitor center is absolutely fabulous. I encourage you to look at everything- we’reso lucky that there is actually a national park in our backyard. So check it out!
Then we will get back in our cars and we will drive 8 minutes and go here:
Stop 2:
Brandywine Falls: 8176 Brandywine Rd, Sagamore Hills, OH 44067.This is the most crowded trail in the entire park with almost 100 stairs to get next to the FALLs ,we are JUST STOPPING here@the viewing platform (5 minutes walk from the parking lot )to view the Falls -believe me you don’t want to miss it! We will be here for approx 20 minutes. For those of us wanting to go via the stairs to check out the Falls a little closer, please do! but we are only staying here for about 20 minutes. And then…
You will go to the potty. Why will you go to the potty?? because our destination next will have a potty that is not as nice as the potty at Brandywine Falls, and because sometimes that potty is not open. And unless you wanna go p p in your pants or you have astronaut underpants…
So we will get back in our cars and drive 12 minutes to:
Stop 3: Tree Farm Trail / horseshoe pond trailhead at:
2075 Major Rd, Peninsula, OH 44264
Please use the actual above ADDRESS on your GPS. I repeat use the address on your GPS.

Small parking lot right off Major Road
You’ll see Horseshoe Pond immediately
There’s a sign/kiosk + trail entrance at the edge of the lot. The trail literally starts from the parking area
We will meet at that sign/kiosk /trail entrance. We will walk the 2.8 mile loop and be here for about 1.5 hours.

After our nature photography jaunt in the woods, we will drive 12 minutes and go out to eatties at:
Stop 4: 6:00 pm-Hudson’s restaurant: 80 N Main St Hudson
So bring raingear/poncho/rainhat/umbrella, — I have been checking the weather forecast and it looks like that the rain is most likely going to stop right when we begin our hike, - which would be wonderful and amazing but you know, mother nature sometimes changes their mind because she’s a lady after all ! We can be indecisive, - but not me !
So just bring some rain gear with you just in case. Maybe you can put it in a little itty-bitty baby backpack that you can wear In your itty-bitty baby back pack! Remember safety first !
Also wear
comfortable clothes, bugspray, comfortable, hiking / walking shoes- nobody gets to fall down on my watch— bring water, sun hat, sun block, lip balm , little snack, snacks if you tend to get a little bit hungry/hangry, — and even a change of shoes so that your little Feet can relax in the restaurant if you wish - and get ready for some fun!!!
