Thanks for being the BEST part of Cleveland Eastside Fun — you make these events absolutely Aah maaaa zing!

BUT, and that’s a very big BUTT: sometimes people sign up BUT don’t come, and that makes me hangry!!! It also makes me want to start giving spankings — because then people who are on the waitlist don’t get a chance to come! So everybody loses. We don’t want everybody to lose, do we?! imagine yourself in their place. The worst part of it is, is that I don’t get to see your cutie patootie little face! And the rest of your friends here don’t get to see your cutie little patootie face either! We can’t have that, can we?!

Never fear I have fixed this problem:

So now you owe me a dollar. Yesssss a dollar. For realzzzzzz. And this is not just any dollar —this is a MAGICAL dollar!!! The US mint only makes magical dollars every 72 years, almost like Haley’s Comet!

This $1.00 goes to Meetup and reserves your spot! If I do not see this dollar from you by the deadline (in the title of the posting), then I will very very VERY
reluctantly have to move you to the waitlist and your spot is no longer guaranteed.

The $1.00 is non-refundable to hold your spot. If you can’t attend, please cancel so someone on the waitlist can join. If the one dollar is not paid by the deadline, you will be moved to the waitlist.
The Meetup site is cray cray and so I am inputting my payment methods for the MAGICAL $1 here; thank you for your patience:
PAYPAL: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/YTLQVTEM7KR8Q

VENMO: Please find AlexAndriaCESF

I will manually check in VENMO or PAYPAL to see if you have paid the MAGICAL $1, so do not be alarmed if your status on ‘Meetup’ still shows as ‘unpaid’.
Remember:
This $1.00 is separate from the cost of the activity which goes to the venue. I will always give you a means to pay the venue. Some venues don’t have a cost, but that does not mean you get out of paying Meetup the $1.00.

Capisce!!?

And now a drum roll please. I said drum. roll. Pleazzzzeeeeee!

Goodyear blimps. Yes, those floating giants we sometines see in the sky. What does that have to do with this event? Well here’s a little somethin’ somethin’ about the history of the place we are visiting! In 1910, F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, began to purchase land in Portage Township. Seiberling and his wife, Gertrude (you know she’s responsible for all the beautiful-nessssss of the place—- wait until you see it- you’ll know what I’m talking about!), wanted to build a home large enough for their growing brood and their extended family. They also wanted the house to function as a center for entertainment and events for the greater Akron community. They named it Stan Hywet, Old English for stone quarry — after the property’s most prominent natural feature.

The 70 acre Stan Hywet estate includes:

5 historic buildings
10 fully restored historic gardens
collection and furnishings with 95% original to the estate

FOOD
There are a few outside vendors, but I hope you will join me at a nearby restaurant afterwards for a bite to eat! Reservations will be for 6:00 PM. TBA

MEETING PLACE
We will meet right between 1 o’clock and 130 for a 130 start .

We will meet outside the ticket building at the main entrance. There are several entrances, but I will be at the main entrance. That is the one that is between the coach house, potties, and gift shop).

I know you will not be able to miss me. lf you don’t see me, you will hear me singing out, “yoooooou hoooooo”! It’s OK. Don’t be embarrassed! I won’t sing too, too loud!

So wear comfortable walking shoes, sunblock, hat, sunglasses, water to sip, fan, maybe some snacks so you do not get hangry, maybe a bag/backpack in case you want to buy lots of things and put all your treasures in one giant bag, get your art on and come on, let’s have some fun!
