What we’re about
This group is for people of all ages who love indie & alternative rock. Great way to discover new bands, get out to see bands you already love, and meet people who share your musical interests. Venues will include Beachland Ballroom & Tavern, Grog Shop, The Agora, Mahall's, Happy Dog, Dunlap's Corner Bar, and more. A typical outing will include meeting up for drinks and music-focused conversation before the show.
The terms "indie" and "alternative" are ambiguous. The kind of music that this group is focused on is represented by bands such as The Replacements, Big Thief, Husker Du, Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Cloakroom, Angel Olsen, Horsegirl, Broken Social Scene, Yo La Tengo, Alvvays, Sonic Youth, Echo & The Bunnymen, Wednesday, and more.

I would like to start off by thanking Matt and letting be an organizer with this group. My first show that I will host is a band that has been around since 2007 but I now just hearing about them in 2025. U.S. Girls was form by Meghan Remy and they are on the 4AD record label. Remy is a fan of Riot Grrrl and the punk band Crass. Their new album is called Scratch It and their last album was called Bless this Mess. Tickets for the show are $25 plus a service charge. We will meet by the bar at the Grog Shop at 8 pm. I will put a few songs of U.S. Girls and you can decide if this is for you.

Come and be a part of our first-ever LISTENING PARTY!!! Bring a guest or 2 or 3 so that we can HIT OUR ATTENDANCE GOAL OF 25. We will have free, exclusive access to the UnderDog, the hip basement space at Happy Dog, complete with party lights, pinball machines, and a sound system. Don't forget to bring an indie/alternative protest song to share from your phone.
IF WE CAN ACHIEVE AN ATTENDANCE COUNT OF 25 THEN WE WILL ALSO GET OUR OWN DEDICATED SERVER DOWN THERE! Otherwise, we will have to go upstairs to order drinks, order food, and pick up food orders. Let's do it!! Come and bring a friend or 2 or 3!!
