Clay Bank circular 8 miles

This 8 mile walk, led by Dennis, will be along forest paths, tracks and roads with some stunning scenery. Our group is averaging about 16 ramblers each week so there will be plenty of social interaction. From the car park we proceed along the road onto a forest track on the left and follow it for just over a mile before taking a path on the right with a gradual climb onto Urra Moor. We will continue across the moor to Medd Craggs and onto Bilsdale Hall. Passing the Hall onto St Hilda's Church we take field paths to the B1257 which we cross and continue past North Woods Farm, Broadfield Farm and Whinstones Farm up to the Wainstones. We pass under the Wainstones and take a track back towards the car park. Paths are now muddy in places due to the recent rain so please wear good waterproof walking shoes/boots. There will be a ten minute break so please bring a drink/snack to enjoy if you wish. Assistance dogs only.
