Join our group walk being led by Peter from Whitby Abbey car park. A leisurely 6 miles with only one short gentle climb. The car park is free and there are toilets (50p).
The route follows the east bank of the River Esk, passing the oldest house, and over the high level bridge with extensive views of Whitby. The cinder track is followed over the Larpool viaduct as far as Broomfield Farm. The footpath north and east is then followed, across Stainsacre Lane and through Little John Field (alongside Robin Hood Field) to Manor House Farm. The last stretch is along the quiet Hawsker Lane to Saltwick Bay and then along the Cleveland Way passing Saltwick Nab to Whitby Abbey.
Good waterproof footwear is recommended with layered clothing so you can add or remove layers when needed and including waterproofs is the weather suggests they will be needed.
There will be a ten minute break so bring a drink/snack to enjoy during this time.
Assistance dogs only.
