From the lay-by walk east on the grass verge at the side of the A171 until a sign for Stubdale Farm is reached - turn north towards the farm. On reaching the farm turn east and north to Lane Head Farm - continue east to Eskavon. On reaching the road turn south and then almost immediately east towards Low Waupley. Just before reaching Low Waupley head north towards High Waupley. From here proceed north west and west across fields, through woods and along a green lane to the B1366. Follow the road south to join a footpath going west and south to Pinkney's Plantation and Freeholder's Close Lane. Follow the lane west then descend through woods to a footbridge - head south west through Cow Close then, going south east, cross a field to Avens Wood - climb gradually through the wood (there is some path erosion here and care is needed). Leaving the wood, walk south east, south and east to Gerrick. From the here walk south and east back to the cars. The walk is muddy in places. Map: OL26/27.
