Meeting With Pol Pot at Cleveland Cinematheque (2024 release)

Details
This film is important for us to see. As lovers of Democracy, it vividly reminds us of the potential dangers of allowing any dictatorship to take over. The preview is linked below and here is the synopsis:
The year is 1978. Three French journalists are invited by the Khmer Rouge to conduct an exclusive interview of the regime’s leader, Pol Pot. At first the country seems ideal, but things are not quite as they appear. With Vietnam threatening to invade, the regime looks for easy culprits, secretly carrying out a genocide. Under the eyes of the journalists, the beautiful picture cracks, revealing the horror. Inspired by journalist Elizabeth Becker’s true account.
We will meet in the lobby area at 6:30 pm - which is 15 minutes prior to the screening. I recommend eating a snack before you come. After the film we will head over to India Flame, across the street, to discuss the film and enjoy some delicious food.
Free parking is available behind the CIA building in Lot 73 as well as in the annex lot. Both of these parking lots are easily accessed from East 117th Street off of Euclid Avenue. Please use Entrance C or Entrance A to enter the building.
The Cleveland Cinematheque is located inside of the Cleveland Institute of Art (not the Cleveland Museum of Art).
