What we’re about

Welcome.
This is a discussion group that recognizes the following:

  1. Climate action begins with connection to oneself, the earth and to all beings
  2. Climate change does not respect borders.
  3. Confronting the full scale of the crisis ahead of us can feel overwhelming and paralyzing when we're alone, and we absolutely need each other to take any meaningful action.

I didn't find any groups that advocate for global climate action here in Victoria, so I decided to put feelers out and start this.

Here's what the group could offer to you:

  1. A space to show up fully as yourselves, where all emotions are welcome
  2. Structured discussions based on the 12 Steps of Climate Grief model (https://climategriefgroup.org/the-12-steps/)
  3. Concrete, tangible steps that you will be invited to take after every single session, whether you'd like to journal, write letters to MLAs, research something new, or simply meditate on something that was discussed.
  4. Brainstorming solutions after every session that are grounded in research, evidence-based and eschew siloed ways of thinking.

Here's what we'd love for you to bring:

  1. Your full, authentic selves
  2. Curiosity

There will be very clear expectations and guidelines around discussions to create a safe, respectful and inclusive container.
