This month we've got two talks. Dan Jolicoeur will be giving a high level overview of Datomic in general, and some of the tooling and strategies they use to build applications with it in the real world. Most of the talks on Datomic seem to jump into a lot of the admittedly cool features like the ability to "time travel" through your data but may make it more difficult to understand the simplicity of modeling data with it. His talk will focus less on bells and whistles and more on how Datomic can help you solve real problems.

I'll be talking about visualizing data with Proto REPL. Proto REPL (https://github.com/jasongilman/proto-repl) is a new Clojure development environment for the Atom (https://atom.io) editor. One of the goals of Proto REPL is to make it easy to visualize and interact with your data. You can extend Proto REPL and easily add new visualizations. An example of that is Proto REPL Charts (https://github.com/jasongilman/proto-repl-charts) which adds the ability to draw line charts, histograms, and other kinds of graphs right in the Atom editor. I'll show how to use Proto REPL Charts to visualize data and how to easily build your own visualizations.

New Organizers:

I'd like to welcome Steven McCord and Dan Jolicoeur of ICX Media as new co-organizers of the group. Steven and Dan have a lot of enthusiasm for Clojure and great ideas for the future of the Clojure DC user group. Their company, ICX Media, has generously agreed to use their location for meeting.
