Clara Rules: Rules Engine in Clojure, a Gentle Introduction by Matthew Pettis

Details

Before neural networks and their kin came to be currently popular and before the AI winter of the 80s, expert systems were a big deal. Expert systems were intended to replicate human decision making processes, and rules systems was one way of capturing human intelligence. Coordinating consistent and coherent rules between groups of people was and is an intriguing problem for computer scientists. In this presentation, I'll give an introduction to what a rules engine does (via the Clara Rules project), some simple examples, and some ideas of where it can be used.

We generally have 1-2 speakers.

A few drinks will be provided.
